Description

SUP Training designed to satisfy FAA Requirements in AC 21-29D and AC 20-62E  for Maintenance staff training in Suspected Unapproved Parts.

This course is created with the intention to increase the level of awareness on SUPs and to provide the means for Parts Suppliers, Material Buyers, (Quality) Inspectors, Technicians and Maintenance organisations to detect and report SUPs to the aviation authorities.

Objectives

By the end of this course the delégate will be able to: -

Recognise, identify and understand the proceedure for Suspected Unapproved Parts

How to deal adequately with Suspected Unapproved Parts

Be aware that Suspected Unapproved Parts are a major issue for aviation safety.

Be aware that Suspected Unapproved Parts are not always bad parts but lack evidence for airworthiness

Have the willingness to report Suspected Unapproved Parts to the aviation authorities.

Very informative. Good resources. Bit confused by slide 10 which stated a part is allowed under PMA - this is not always the case and the same is true for owner/operator parts. Some companies refuse PMA parts due to their origins, part numbers being different to IPCs, etc. Slide 25 needs to be made clear these are Serviceable tags. I have worked in various places where the yellow tags are the U/S tags. Overall very interesting course especially for new starters.
